2014 Season Sneak Peek & New Shop Announcement!

Hi all!

Wow, it has been a busy knitting season.  It's that time again for me to unveil some of the pieces I've working on to fill my Etsy shop as well as sell at local craft fairs.  Here's a quick sneak peek of a few of the items you'll see on my Starfish Knits shop in the next week or so, along with a fun candid shot of our lovely models and me trailing with inventory in the background during our recent shoot.  A big thanks to photographer, Sam Samuels!  You can check out her blog here.

And, finally, a very exclusive sneak peek at a couple items that will soon be available from my new shop, Elise Knit Designs.  This shop will celebrate simplicity and classic styling while maintaining a focus on high quality, natural fibers.  The shop is still under construction, but you'll be able to shop at  it soon at eliseknitdesigns.etsy.com

In the meanwhile, you can follow my progress on Twitter: @eliseknitdesign

Here's my super sneak peeks:

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great rest of your week!

The Knit Dress: Fall 2014's Knit Trend?

So I was recently looking at some of the knit trends for the upcoming season (gotta stay informed, of course! Haha), and noticed a couple things that were pretty interesting:

1) Big, textured knits are IN.  Yeah, baby!  Love that look :)
2) Textured knit dresses are making a comeback.

That's right, you read that correctly:  Knit dresses.

I feel like knit dresses never fully went away, but usually they were reserved for some kind of tight, machine knit look that basically hugged your body so close that there wasn't a whole lot of give for that morning PSL from Starbucks or the occasional (maybe regular) holiday cookie.

But then I found all these cool looser knit looks on the runway.  Perhaps they only look loose because they are being worn by crazy tiny models, but perhaps this might be a new trend.  After all, a knit dress CAN be knit in such a way that it flatters with an a-line cut or built in belt.  I love the idea of an a-line knit dress paired with a belt...  Hmmm... inspiration is flowing.  Now if only I had the patience for such a project.

Anyway, here are some cool photos I came across for this particular Fall 2014 knit look:

Happy knitting! :)
