Next Attempt: The Starfish

I've decided that my next project is going to be (appropriately) a starfish!  I'm going to attempt to recreate the starfish as instructed in the adorable book Amigurumi Knits by Hansi Singh.  My knitting buddy, Lara, is letting me borrow her book for a little bit.  I've already had a few co-workers say they'd like to buy the hermit crab, but that's going to have to wait a little longer while I up my experience level.

This picture to the left isn't my project, but a great picture of a completed version.  So cute!  Lara already completed one and I fell head over heels for it!

After learning some tips on the bow knot, and making some little hearts (pictures to come!) of my own, I think I've picked up all the skills needed for the starfish, but hopefully I can get the knitting crew at work together this week.  I'll probably need some tips...

We'll have to see how long it will take me to finally finish (or even start!).  Despite having had a week of vacation last week, I barely touched my needles!

Well, thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

The Cinched Headband

Here's my latest finished project - the cinched headband.  A fun way to spruce up a hairstyle with minimal effort.  And if you need some jewelry to pair with it, my beautiful model, Samantha, sells one of a kind, handmade pieces at her etsy shop, Urban Cowgirl Art!

If you are interested in purchasing a hand made cinched headband in a color of your choice, please let me know.  Prices vary on yarn selection and availability.  Just email starfishknits@gmail.com

The Bow Knot Scarflet

Today's featured item is a simple but unique scarf: the bow knot scarflet.  This has quickly become one of my favorite projects to work on.  I've already made one for myself and one for a friend.  Super soft and thick, it keeps your neck warm but without getting too hot or itchy.  Made with 100% acrylic, it is machine washable, although I'm generally an advocate for hand washing and air drying any hand made items.

If you are interested in ordering a bow knot scarflet, please let me know!  Price varies on color availability and working time frame.  I'm also happy to knit with a specific yarn granted it is of the right amount and thickness.  Just email starfishknits@gmail.com

Welcome!

Hello!  Welcome to my knitting blog!  While I'm starting to pick up some new knitting skills, I decided it would be fun to start a blog to share some of my projects.  Many of these items are for sale or can be ordered, so please feel free to let me know if you are interested!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
